Formed in 2000 by a group of young musicians who craved to play traditional music from their hometown and at the same time wanted to be a model for young people who were losing their native identities.
Through music and singing about love and nature, the beauty of women and life. Juyanis was made up of young Kichwa from different communities scattered at the foot of the majestic Cotacachi Mountains.
The different ways of life of these small settlements were members lived, enabled Juyanis a to create a diverse and rich cultural expressions inherited from their ancestors.
Although each member has a different thinking, Juyanis moves toward one ideal which is to respect their musical culture without forgetting the pride of being a Kichwa indigenous people no matter where they are in the world.
